Indeed, a study by a relationship expert indicates that the way we hang toilet paper can actually reveal hidden things about our personality. But as Dr. Gilda Carle, the creator of the test, actually explained… This test is supposed to be a fun way to assess people’s everyday behavior without thinking too much.
After surveying 2,000 people… Dr. Gilda Carle found that those who hang toilet paper ‘over the top’ are more likely to have a dominant personality. Characterized by their responsible nature… Their ability to act and assert themselves. They often occupy leadership roles.
Dr. Gilda Carle: “I originally created the toilet paper personality test as a fun way for people to assess the behaviors they use on a daily basis, often without thinking. I interviewed a random sample of 2,000 men and women, ages 18-75 of different ethnicities. I asked them if they rolled their toilet paper over or under it. I also wondered how assertive they were in their relationships with others, on a scale of 1 to 10.”
And what were the results?
The test results supported his hypothesis that people who hang the roller from above are more dominant than those who hang it from below.
What about people who hang toilet paper “from below”? Well, therefore, the latter tend to be more relaxed, more reliable and thus seek relationships with solid bases. Also, they are more likely to be submitted.
Common traits of people who have a submissive personality include being easy-going, empathetic, patient, and flexible.
Dr Gilda Carle discovered strange tendencies in her subjects

Moreover, this survey revealed that nearly 75% of individuals who earn less than €20,000 per year hang toilet paper underneath. While nearly 66% of individuals who earn €50,000 hang it on top.
