Released in 1984, and directed by Ivan Reitman (recently deceased), Ghostbusters was one of the biggest hits of the 80s, helping to revolutionize American entertainment cinema. Even today, the film starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis is at the heart of a real cult, and many contemporary works continue to make explicit reference to it, The Big Bang Theory to Stranger Things.
In 1989, Ivan Reitman produced a sequel, soberly titled Ghostbusters 2and we will have to wait until 2021 to discover the sequel to this second opus, with Ghostbusters: The Legacydirected by Jason Reitman, son of the director of the first two films. Starring Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Gone Girl, Fargo), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Paul Rudd (Friends, Ant Man), the film was particularly appreciated by the press and the public. Especially for the return of the heroes of the first film.
