Do you really want to lose your belly fat? In this new article, the Leenkus editorial staff invites you to discover the 3 tips of Dr. Michael Mosley, a British scientist. These tips would help you get rid of them easily. Explanations….

What is abdominal fat?

Abdominal fat, also called visceral fat, is actually characterized by an accumulation of fat deposits between the muscles and the abdominal organs.

Indeed, to lose this excess fat on the stomach… The British doctor Michael Mosley delivered some tips in the columns of the English media L’Express.

His recommendations? Practice physical activity, bet on a balanced diet, but also intermittent fasting. We put the point!

Lose belly: favor a balanced diet

““Your body makes insulin after a meal to keep blood sugar stable. In your fat, insulin also inhibits the release of fatty acids. However, as you age, the insulin receptors on the cell wall become less sensitive. As a result, after a meal, your blood fills with glucose and fatty acids,” explains Michael Mosley. Indeed, this is the reason why belly fat is more common in older people than in younger people.

Also, the expert recommends limiting or even avoiding two types of food. Especially sugars and carbohydrates. “To have a serious impact on your belly fat, it is essential to cut out foods high in sugar. There are a surprising number of ‘diet’ snacks and drinks that are actually high in sugar”.

The specialist thus recommends avoiding sweet fruits such as mango, pineapple, fruit juices or even smoothies.

Also, regarding carbs…. Dr. Mosley points out that “when people cut back on carbs, their appetite goes down and they lose weight.” So it’s best to replace processed carbs like chips, white bread, and pasta with foods like quinoa and brown rice.

Flat stomach: the benefits of intermittent fasting

Indeed, opting for intermittent fasting would also be a good way to lose belly fat. Intermittent fasting, also called “fasting”, then consists of not eating for a short time.

By practicing intermittent fasting, you now stop eating for 16 hours every day. That is to say you have a time slot of 8 hours to consume your meals.

According to specialists, intermittent fasting has many benefits. “Short-term fasting can cause several changes in the body that make it easier to burn fat. This includes a reduction in insulin, an increase in growth hormone and a small increase in metabolism,” says Dr. Mosley.

Also, to support his words, the scientist cites a study published in the journal Translational Research in 2014. This shows that intermittent fasting would promote significant weight loss in a short time. According to the researchers of this study, the participants had lost 4 to 7% of their waist circumference.

Lose belly fat… practice regular physical activity!

It is now known. Playing sports would actually help get rid of belly fat: “Numerous studies have demonstrated the extraordinary impact of HIIT (note: high intensity interval training) on our body”, specifies the doctor in particular.

On the other hand, HIIT is high intensity short interval training. The goal of this method is to be as efficient as possible in a short period of time.
