The Batman: Paul Dano is not done with the Riddler and is working on this new project

After interpreting the Riddler under the aegis of Matt Reeves on the occasion of the release of The Batman on March 2, actor Paul Dano wants to go further with his character (which sticks to his skin), as evidenced by this brand new project.

Dano: the great satisfaction of the film

The criticism around The Batman, first laudatory and dithyrambic during the preview, then more nuanced during the first week of operation (we let you read ours here), bodes well for this torch-bearing of the director Matt Reeves. The desire to develop a BatVerse, justified by the arrival of three spin-offs is proof of this, as is the desire to teaser the arrival of the Joker at the end of the film.

Regarding the film itself, there are good things to keep. Beyond the sticky and punk atmosphere, some acting is effective. Let us quote those of Jeffrey Wright in Jim Gordon, Zoé Kravitz in Catwoman, or Paul Dano in Sphinx. Inhabited by the role, the latter took malicious pleasure in martyring the Black Knight, a performance that DC Comics apparently appreciated since the actor went to the writing side, mobilized for the time of a mini-series devoted to the Riddler.

Of the’acting acting in writing

Entitled Riddler: Year Onethis bi-monthly six-issue miniseries will be published via DC Black Label and will explore how Edward Nashton went from being a private citizen of Gotham City to the city’s most wanted criminal. In addition, this is indeed a genesis of the character and not a rereading from the pen of the actor. In view of his performance in the feature film by Matt Reeves, we can only be enthusiastic about the commitment of Paul Dano to transpose his character on paper.

Riddler: Year One will therefore land in October 2022, with Paul Dano writing, accompanied by the designer Stevan Subic who produced the teaser below.
