Squid Game season 2: this revelation from the creator of the series concerning the next events

A few weeks ago, we brought you this good news for fans with the return of these two beloved characters in the second season of Squid Gamethe South Korean Netflix series which met with incredible success last year all over the world. And precisely, while the fans are impatiently awaiting the continuation of the adventures of Seong Gi-hun, the creator of the series recently opened up about his ideas for the next season.

Earlier this year, fans learned with chagrin that the long-awaited second season of Squid Game was going to be postponed to 2024 when Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the series, confessed that he only wrote three pages of the new script.

Because after Netflix gave the green light to the second season of Squid Game earlier this year, questions were raised about how the series would progress. But Dong-hyuk has been very quiet about the future of the series. The only cast member to officially return in the new season is Lee Jung-Jae as Seong Gi-hun.but Dong-hyuk later said he might bring back old characters, suggesting that Kang Sae-byeok, played by Ho-yeon Jung, might have a twin sister who might make an appearance.

But in a recent interview with The PlaylistDong-hyuk, who is also the showrunner and screenwriter of the Netflix series, has said that he had already viewed scenes from the second season, hinting that they would be much better than those already seen by the public. He then explained:

Yes there are a few. However, I don’t want to spoil, so all I’m going to say is that there will be new games, even better than the first season, that are planned.

a more than expected sequel

For the few who don’t know it yet, the first season of the Netflix series Squid Game recount the story of a group of 456 people who compete in a series of deadly games, each hoping to be the sole winner a veritable small jackpot, thus allowing them to get out of their financial precariousness. The tests that the players pass are based on Korean games popular with childrensuch as tug of war or marbles.

The iconic “One, two, three, sun” scene from the first season was an idea that the creator had in mind for almost ten years according to comic book, before he manages to transmit it to the small screen. The scene has become so famous that fan reproductions can be seen all over the world.

Squid Game quickly became a worldwide success, totaling more than a billion hours of viewing since its release. Asked about the success of the first season, Dong-hyuk attributed some of its popularity to the movie Parasite (2019) by Bong Joon-ho as well as the growing demand for Korean media all over the world.
