The Russo brothers behind this blockbuster for Netflix
Announced two years ago, Netflix has just unveiled in images its next blockbuster entrusted to Anthony and Joe Russo that we no longer present.
The sibling duo will reunite with Chris Evans aka Captain America in the MCU as well as Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas who will collaborate again after Blade Runner: 2049 by Denis Villeneuve. This movie is The Gray Manthe adaptation of the eponymous novel by Mark Greaney.
The story tells ofa former CIA agent turned hitman and nicknamed “the gray man” who goes looking for another member of the agency who also became a hitman. The main role is played by Ryan Gosling. He will have to team up with agent Dani Miranda played by Ana de Armas to defend himself against a cabal of enemies across the planet led by Lloyd Hansen, played by Chris Evans.
The rest of the cast consists of Jessica Henwick, Julia Butters, Bob Thorton, Rege-Jean Page, Wagner Moura and Alfred Woodard.
Netflix wants to make it a saga
Contrary to Avengers: Endgamethe Russo brothers could not rely on a budget of 356 million dollars, but they were able to take advantage of a nice envelope of 200 million. Suffice to say that Netflix has put the means and hopes make it a blockbuster and produce several episodes to make it a franchise like Jason Bourne.
With such a main cast and the Russo Brothers behind the camera, if you’re a fan of spy thrillers The Gray Man should please you. For now, no trailer is available. It shouldn’t be long because the film is expected on Netflix on July 22.
