On March 30, Marvel began broadcasting its series Moon Knight on Disney+. A series that follows the wanderings of Steven Grant, a discreet employee of a gift shop in a London museum who has a tendency to attract electric blackouts and reminisce about a past life. Upon examination, Steven discovers that he has dissociative identity disorder and shares his body with mercenary Marc Spector. And as his alter ego’s enemies target him, they must delve into a mystery that revolves around the Egyptian Gods.

A series with mixed returns which seduced a host of spectators all the same because of its mythological aspect and especially Oscar Isaac’s acting. And like any new series, Moon Knight introduces a host of new characters. Besides its main protagonist (Steven Grant/Marc Spector), Moon Knight took advantage of its first two episodes to lift the veil on the alleged antagonist of the moment: Arthur Harrow. This character, played by actor Ethan Hawke, is the leader of a cult. He would serve a “goddess” named Ammit, possessing the forequarters of a lion, the hindquarters of a hippopotamus and the head of a crocodile, who ate the hearts of the impure in the au -of the.

A sympathetic goddess therefore who finds herself closely or remotely linked to Harrow. And to believe this famous Arthur, he would be none other than the previous avatar of Khonshu, the god of the Moon and incidentally a follower of revenge. To create his “heaven on Earth”, Harrow seeks to resurrect Ammit, who would thus judge people before harm is done. In his quest, Harrow managed to get his hands on the Scepter of Ammit, an artifact introduced from the first episode of the series. And from episode 2 of Moon Knight, Harrow reveals that this scepter is still connected to the powers of Ammit. Thus, this artifact is filled with divine power, where weapons like Mjolnir are only enchanted.

Although the staff has yet to reveal the full extent of its powers, it is still capable of absorbing an individual’s life essence when held near them. A divine scepter which is therefore even more dangerous than weapons made and then enchanted like Mjolnir. It remains to be seen whether the series will allow us to find out more quickly. Towards a possible new preview from the 3rd episode of Moon Knight? Answer on April 13 on Disney +.
