Marvel: this hero far outclasses Wolverine in his ability to regenerate

When we talk about faculty of regeneration in the Marvel universe, fans very often think of Wolverine. However, the hero is not the only character designed by the Maison des Idées who has this healing factor. There are many others, a little less known, which even arrive to surpass Wolverine on that ground, like the hero we are going to present to you today.

A hero superior to Wolverine on this point

Wolverine needs matter to activate his healing power. This is not the case of Simon Williams, a character invented by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who you probably know best as Wonder Man. First appeared in Avengers #9the hero is originally a businessman who was recruited by Baron Zemo and the Enchantress to be transformed into a weapon capable of destroying the Avengers.

By acquiring powers based on ion energy, Simon Williams has become Wonder Man. He is forced by Baron Zemo to join the Avengers to betray them, but he refuses at the last moment to do so and prefers to go over to the camp of good.

Since his transformation into a super-human, the nature of Wonder Man’s body changed to solidified ion energy. This means he no longer has blood flowing through his veins. Since he can control this energy, he has the power to manipulate it to fully regenerate.

Powers that make him INVINCIBLE

In fact, his powers make him virtually invincible. Even when his body is shredded into tiny little pieces, he still has the ability to reshape it. While Wolverine’s ability to regenerate is impressive, it can never match Wonder Man’s.

The hero never gets old, while Logan has to settle for a slowed aging process compared to a mere human. Also, Wolverine can technically die. Although he is able to recover from extremely serious injuries, he will always need a body for his healing factor to work.

This is where the main difference between the healing power of the two heroes lies. For his part, regardless of whether his body was wiped out or not, Wonder Man can put it back together given that he is 100% made up of ionic energy which is constantly renewed.
