Thursday is the usual meeting point for anyone with an Epic Games account. And for good reason, it is on Thursday that the Epic Games Store, Steam’s biggest competitor, renews its free games. The opportunity for players to get their hands on a new batch of titles offered. Interesting games in recent weeks, enough to retain more players. And this week, 2 new games are offered, including a horror game legend.

Every Thursday at 5 p.m., the Epic Games Store offers one or more games, sometimes in-game content such as packs, to anyone with an Epic Games account. To retrieve them, it’s simple, all you have to do is connect and add the titles offered to your library in a few clicks. An effective way to expand your library without spending a penny. And after Insurmountable and XCOM 2now the Epic Games Store offers two new games: Amnesia: Rebirth and Riverbond. The former is the latest installment in the popular Amnesia series of horror games while the latter is a fun voxel action-adventure game.
Amnesia: Rebirth
Released in October 2020 on PC and PlayStation 4, Amnesia: Rebirth is none other than the latest addition to the Frictional Games studio. Third installment of the saga Amnesia and following Amnesia: The Dark Descent from 2010, Amnesia: Rebirth presents itself as a first-person horror game in which the player embodies Tasi Trianon, a French technical designer who seeks to join, in 1937, an archaeological expedition to the excavation site of Tin Hinan, Algeria. But after the crash of her plane, Trianon will go in search of her companions, including her husband Salim, by exploring desert caves and ancient tombs. The game is dimly lit and it is necessary to use light sources such as a kerosene lamp or torches and other candles to advance.
A heavy atmosphere that players must continually face, while solving various puzzles and learning more about the lore of the game. As for the first Amnesia, Amnesia: Rebirth is based on a level of fear. The latter gradually increases and when fear invades Tasi, the latter is plagued by hallucinations. Be careful though, the horrific creatures you come across cannot be defeated. You will have to either run or hide to try to escape them. A dive into horror that should delight fans of the genre as well as neophytes, in particular thanks to the recent addition of the adventure mode, which allows you to focus on the story by detaching the horror part.

Riverbond
After the horror ofAmnesia: Rebirthdive full of voxels into Riverbond, a cubic adventure game. In Riverbondalone or in co-op up to 4 players, you set out to face different threats to free the eight known worlds from the yoke of the so-called “The Knight”. Sublime levels, action at the rendezvous, complete arsenal and extensive customization for your hero, it’s up to you to survey the different levels to defeat the different enemies you will encounter on your way.
With its colorful and above all, destructible environment, Riverbond presents itself as a good stress reliever. More than 50 different weapons are at your disposal, enough to allow you to confront the “fearsome” bosses that inhabit this adventure game. A title released in June 2019 which went relatively unnoticed by the general public. Hopefully this welcome spotlight lets it shine a little more.
