Elon Musk, the iconic founder of You’re here, who also wants to colonize Mars, now has a new challenge. Indeed, the billionaire announced on Twitter that he wanted to embark on a new major project, which would allow him to have more freedom of expression.

For the few readers who have lived in a cave for the past few years, Elon Musk is a billionaire, entrepreneur, business leader born in 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. He naturalized Canadian in 1988 then American in 2002. He is the founder of many companies, the most famous of which are Tesla, Space X or PayPal. Right now, Elon Musk is working on multiple fronts. Indeed he tries to impose his Tesla, clean and autonomous cars. He also wants to colonize Mars with his firm Space X. But in the midst of all these activities, the latter has just added a string to his bow.
A new social network
Elon Musk took to his Twitter account to make a big announcement. In effect, the billionaire has floated the idea of creating a whole new social network to compete with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… Elon Musk later said he was seriously considering the idea. The promoter justifies this decision by the lack of freedom of expression on Twitter. The financial magnate has indeed seen some of his tweets deleted by the platform several times. He regrets this operation and wants to create his own social network 100% freedom of expression.
Elon Musk is not the only personality to want to compete with Twitter. Donald Trump has indeed launched Truth Social last February, about a year after his Twitter ban. But even if Elon Musk embarks on the creation of a new social network, the competition will therefore be tough. Especially since Twitter remains the market leader with more than 217 million daily active users.

– Would you consider creating a new social media platform, @elonmusk? One that would consist of an open source algorithm, one where freedom of speech and respect for free speech is a priority, one where propaganda is very minimal. I think that kind of platform is needed.
