UFOs: this secret report from the American army has just leaked

Captivating crowds for decades, research into UFOs are classified as secret defense United States. However, a secret US military report has just leaked on the internet, and we provide a summary below.

An enlightening report

First, a little reminder. A UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object. That is to say an uncharacterized flying object, observed by one or more people, recorded by one or more sensors, and whose origin is unknown. In 2020, we learned thatin the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, there had been a real upsurge in UFO sightings in the United States: 7,200 sightings, according to the New York Timesan increase of 1000 cases compared to previous years.

Still according to the famous daily, the explanation found for this drastic increase is that during periods of confinement, Americans had more than ever the leisure to observe the stars. the New York Times also observed that, since the creation at the Pentagon of a section reserved for the study and observation of UFOs, the general public was even more receptive to the idea that the latter could exist.

Created in August 2020, this section of the Pentagon has the mission of “detect, analyze and catalog these unidentified aerial phenomena that could pose a threat to the national security of the United States“. The reports of the section are classified defense. And while one of them (long of twenty-four pages all the same) has just leaked on the internet in PDF format, because of the website The Black Vaultwe understand why!

Be careful though, if you hoped to have proof thanks to this report, that extraterrestrials exist, and that they visit us regularly, you are very likely to be disappointed. Indeed, as the report in question specifies, the only sighting that has found a real explanation is that of a UFO which turned out to be … a simple deflating balloon. In addition, the report states:

These observations may be the result of sensor errors, spoofing, or misperception by observers, and require additional rigorous analysis.

Why, in this case, hide the results from the general public? For several reasons. Report clarifies that negative results can tarnish the reputation of the Pentagon section, and silence the observers, thus rendering the scientific project ineffective. In other words, if the Pentagon gets a reputation for always declassifying UFOs, then the public won’t report them anymore.

The second reason is even clearer: the security of the United States is at stake, given the fact that many UFOs and UAPs (unidentified aerospace phenomena) are observed near American military installations, pragmatism would like it to be military tools of foreign powers used to have information on the American army. This dimension of espionage / counter-espionage pushes the Pentagon to continue to wonder about these famous Unidentified Flying Objects.

To summarize, many cases of UFOs are reported each year, and each case is studied, with the possibility, most of the time, of finding logical explanations (like the example of the balloon presented above). Each case is interesting however since it could be a foreign power coming to spy on a space classified as a defense secret in the United States (such as a military complex, for example). No proof that UFOs really existtherefore, but interesting explanations on the question of the “Why does the United States investigate so many reported UFO cases?”.
