Hollywood Rising Star, Barry Keoghanwhich we recently saw in the role of the Joker in The Batman, has just been arrested by the Dublin police. Explanations.
The Joker arrested in real life
Since its revelation in Dunkirk of Christopher Nolan, the young Barry Keoghan seems ready to mark his time. If he has had only secondary roles for the moment, the Irish actor also seems comfortable with blockbusters (The Eternals, The Batman) that independent productions (Killing of the Sacred Deer, The Green Knight) and the most demanding series (Chernobyl).
Although he only appears in one scene from The Batman in the role of the Joker, another deleted scene in which he chats with the Dark Knight of Gotham literally broke the internetand gives us hope for an upcoming confrontation between Batman and his nemesis in a future installment of Matt Reeves’ trilogy.
Unfortunately, the actor has just hit the headlines, being arrested last Sunday (April 10) by the National Police of the Republic of Ireland. According to the British daily The Independentthe actor, who was staying in his hometown, was arrested around 6:45 a.m. in a state of intoxicationin the Clongriffin district of Dublin.
According to several sources, the Irish National Police were alerted by a resident, who complained that a man was outside his window. A witness to Barry Keoghan’s arrest confirmed that the young actor was on a balcony, and that he did not appear threatening. As for what Keoghan was doing on that balcony, it would appear that the Druig actor in The Eternals was staying with one of his relatives, who lives in an adjacent property.
Barry Keoghan was soon released without being charged with anything. Fact, this minor incident should not pose the slightest problem for the rest of his career, unlike Ezra Miller (Belief in Animals FantasticFlash in the DCEU), whose arrest in Hawaii prompted Warner to call an emergency meeting.
Regarding Barry Keoghan, we will find him later this year in the film Banshees of Inisherinthe new film by Irish filmmaker Martin McDonagh (Kisses from Bruges, Three Billboards), alongside Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell.
