It has been several years since pirate streaming sites have taken over, overwhelming torrent or direct download sites. These new platforms represent a problem for Hollywood, which has decided to make them its hobbyhorse. Thereby, after Prime Wire Where PopCorn Timeit is the turn today of two major and popular sites to have their domain names suspended.
Domain name passed to ServerHold
Indeed, ACE, America Cinema Editors, and entertainment are busy trying to find out who is behind these pirate sites. If the rights holders do not hesitate to attack them with a DMCA summons, they can also sue them for their domain name. Thus, with two million daily visitors, the LookMovie and Cuevana3 sites have had their domain names suspended by the authorities.
The court ordered the decommissioning of LookMovie.io and Cuevana3.io in passing their domain name to ServerHold rendering them unusable.
For now, no official explanation has been made public. But this suspension of the .io domain could most certainly come from the ACE since the .io registry was acquired by Donuts which is part of the ACE.
However, ACE’s executive vice-president denied being behind the move. He specifies that they work with other domain name registries of registrars and welcomes the .io registry”joined this fight“.
Suspended to better come back
But LookMovie.io and Cuevana3.io have not said their last word! Indeed, the administrators of these two sites specified that the suspension of their domain name was done without any explanation from the registrar or associations of rights holders. What does it matter! They managed to move their sites by changing address to LookMovie2.to and Cuevana3.me. In short, the war-war between rights holders and pirate streaming sites is not ready to stop!
