While this beginning of 2022 has been marked by releases like Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Lost Ark or Elden Ringa little indie game created a surprise: vampire survivors. Displayed at less than 3 €, this rogue-lite presented itself as the trend of the month of January, popularized by Twitch streamers. More than 86,000 ratings later, vampire survivors seems to have found his successor.
a worthy successor for vampire survivors?
Developed by an indie developer from London by the name of Luca Galante, vampire survivors filled the nights of many gamers shortly after its release last December. Popularized by various Twitch streamers and YouTubers, the game changed the life of its developer. A title that immediately seduced with its simple concept, its complete and varied arsenal, its fast games and its well-thought-out difficulty curve. A success that obviously inspired other developers, eager to embark on the adventure.
And after vampire survivors, now his worthy successor entered the dance on April 28th. baptized Nomad Survivalthis rogue-lite offers a similar objective, namely to resist relentless waves of monsters before facing an ultimate boss. The money collected during these attempts can increase the overall statistics of his character but also unlock new characters and alternative characters. In total, expect to find:

But rather than presenting itself as a vulgar copy of vampire survivors, Nomad Survival knows a different gameplay on several points. To begin with, the game invites the player to orient their acquired skills around the relics obtained in the chests. Passive bonuses that greatly boost certain skills in the game, so special attention should be paid to them. What’s more, the bosses present an additional threat since they attack you. Dodging projectiles that further spice up the gameplay.
Although Nomad Survival is not yet as popular as the now famous vampire survivorsit has accumulated more than 70 ratings with 93% positive since its release. A promising title available in early access which should continue to expand its content in the coming months. Nomad Survival could therefore benefit from the same success as Vampire Survival. It remains to be seen whether its too great resemblance to the rogue-lite trend of this beginning of the year does not risk, precisely, closing a few doors to it. And for good reason, what’s the point of tackling an inspired game when you can appreciate the original.
