Star Wars: the creator of Lost and Watchmen could well tackle a brand new film in the saga

Since acquiring the franchise Star Wars by disneythe Star Wars Expanded Universe, also known as the Star Wars Expanded Universe, continues to grow and expand, with more new productions on the way and on the way. This investment in the franchise not only allows fans to experience more science fiction universe created by george lucasbut also to other creators to appropriate this universe and extend it.

a rumor that makes you want

Star Wars no longer needs to be touted as the epic space opera that defined a generation of pop culture. With the franchise now owned by Disney, projects have been rolling out continuously, with new movies, series, video games, theme park rides and other merchandise coming out of this acquisition. Among these projects, we find in particular the last creation of the franchise, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a series that will be available on Disney+ from the end of May 2022.

All these new projects are therefore an opportunity for creators to contribute to the development of the Star Wars universe, such as Dave Filoniknown for his work on the series The Clone Wars and more recently The Mandalorian. And lately, a rumor concerns the creator of the series watch menDamon Lindelofwho would be working on a new film Star Wars. Also known for being the co-creator of the series Lost and The Leftoversthe screenwriter and producer is recognized for his ambitious narratives, his atypical twists, his sprawling sets and his unique structures, so many points which would fit well in the universe of Star Wars.

This new rumor comes from a tweet by Jeff Sneidera journalist from The Anklerwhich claims that Lindelof is working on a new Star Wars movie. Not much else is known about this project, but Lindelof’s reputation is enough to get fans excited.. With Lindelof’s tendencies for big castings and complex storytelling, there are plenty of parts of the Star Wars universe where his skills could be put to good use.

EXCLUSIVE via The Ankler: I heard that Damon Lindelof, the creator of watch men and the co-creator of Lost and The Leftoversworking on a new movie Star Wars.

good news for the franchise?

Lindelof worked on the series Lost alongside JJ Abramswho himself was the director of the films Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), thus making Lindelof a natural choice to write a new film Star Wars. However, Lindelof’s success has often been more notable on the small screen than the big one.which suggests that a spin-off of The Mandalorian or another original series might suit the screenwriter better.

Given the changing nature of the industry, it is quite possible that the film Star Wars of Lindelof is never realized, or that it be rewritten as production progresses. Since the process is still in its infancy, there is so much room for speculation that at this point anything is possible. It is therefore better to keep a certain distance with this information.. But, with Lindelof’s impressive track record, and not to mention the real success that the series has had watch men in its adaptation, any potential Star Wars project would be in good hands here. It only remains to hope that this is true, and that he will be as impressive and ambitious as with his projects on the small screen.
