Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi: Ewan McGregor uses the force in real life

Waiting to find out the mini-series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ and to find Ewan McGregor there in the title role, 17 years after his last appearance in Revenge of the Sith, the 50-year-old actor delivers an anecdote that will undoubtedly make you smile. He thus explains use the power of force in the real world, even once the costume of the famous Jedi left behind.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi more than two months to wait

45 years after its debut, the saga Star Wars remains the most significant work of science fiction in the history of cinema and more generally of pop culture, despite numerous canceled projects. Disney therefore intends to exploit the vein to the end and, while waiting for future films, is betting a lot on the series broadcast on its SVOD platform. As saying that the one centered on the famous Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi is by far the most anticipated by a majority of fans.

We will have to wait another two months, until May 25, 2022, so that the six episodes of the miniseries Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi land exclusively on Disney+. A highly anticipated event, since the facts will take place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and that the series will therefore mark the return to live-action of Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker (now Darth Vader). This will therefore mark at the same time the reunion between the actors Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

The former incidentally made a very amusing – and somewhat embarrassing – revelation which proves that he is particularly invested in the Star Wars universe, since he explains that he has fun pretending to use force in his everyday life.

A role of jedi a little too taken to heart

It was during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Ewan McGregor delivered an amusing anecdote. His Obi-Wan Kenobi character thus seems to have gone to his head somewhat, since the actor has regularly revealed that he thinks he’s a Jedi by “using the force” in real life: “I do it with the doors! I like to do it with the automatic doors just for fun”. But the actor does not stop there and recounts having been caught in the act on several occasions, causing moments of embarrassment.

It’s always just for fun, because it makes me laugh. But I’ve occasionally been caught doing it, and it’s kind of embarrassing. But it’s hard to hold back, right? It’s funny. If you do it at the right time, you feel really powerful! Ewan McGregor

After all, we would be in no position to judge: who, in all honesty, has never done the same thing, just for the pleasure of feeling like a Jedi for a moment? In the same way, you all have already laced your hand in front of your mouth to breathe like Darth Vader. No ? Too bad for you. At any rate, you can find the Sith lord and his (former) Jedi master in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi from May 25, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.
