Sam Raimi is about to make its debut in the MCU with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a project that has just delivered an interesting new trailer. However, the director does not forget his first love, and in particular continues to think of Spider Man 4 and to Tobey Maguireas you will see.
The old Spider-Man
Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire collaborated on the original trilogy Spiderman in the 2000s, forever changing the landscape of pop culture helping usher in the current golden age of superhero movies. The films were highly successful at the box office, collectively grossing more than $2 billion. A fourth part was in development and was even due to be released in May 2011. Unfortunately, those plans fell through, and Sony decided to relaunch the franchise with Andrew Garfield, at the head of The Amazing Spider-Man.
As we now know, Tobey Maguire reprized his role as Peter Parker in the film Spider-Man: No Way Home released last year, alongside Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, thanks to the Multiverse. No Way Home was a monumental success, receiving rave reviews and grossing $1.8 billion in the world. Reactions to the film have therefore sparked various discussions, including the possibility that Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield pcan both play again in solo projects. For now, nothing has been confirmed, but Sam Raimi is still coming to another solo project, although nothing has been confirmed, but Sam Raimi has just spoken about the possibility of a Spider Man 4.
Sam Raimi Opens Up About Potential Spider-Man 4 With Tobey Maguire
In an interview given to Fandango to promote his entry into the MCU with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessSam Raimi was asked about the possibility of directing another movie Spiderman with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. It must be said that the end of No Way Home opened up the field of possibilities. Though he admits that movie isn’t in the pipeline yet.Sam Raimi seemed open to this idea:
I realized after doing Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any collaboration. I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think anything is possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that at the moment. I don’t know what they think of it. I didn’t really try to do that. But it could be wonderful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie by the way, I would love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.
After this statement, it is quite certain that Sam Raimi remains passionate about the character and his team. One of the reasons Raimi wanted to make a Spider Man 4 is that he was disappointed with the end result of the third film, and wanted to finish his Spider-Man work on a high. Even after all this time, Raimi continues to think about his Spider Man 4 not realized, and so it will be interesting to see if Marvel accepts this project in the future.
And while waiting to discover a hypothetical futur Spider-Man 4you can always try to learn as much as possible about Doctor Strange 2to start by movie length.
