Spider-Man No Way Home: this surprise cameo that no one noticed

Spider-Man: No Way Home came to conclude the first trilogy of films around the web weaver. While we are all impatiently awaiting the announcement of new adventures for the superhero, the latest installment of the franchise has made itself available on digital platforms in the United States. This allowed many spectators to launch this film a second time, which was a huge hit at the cinema, but also to discover scenes that fans may have missed…

A cleaning organization

Throughout the three films of the Spider-Man trilogy, Peter Parker has rubbed shoulders with many characters from the Marvel universe. Among them, we can mention Nick Fury, Doctor Strange or Tony Stark. But there are many others, some of which have unfortunately gone somewhat unnoticed, such as the Damage Control Department, for example.

In the Marvel universe, this structure is an old branch of SHIELD, placed in the pay of the government, which aims to commandeer coveted artifacts from battlegrounds. Marvel once had big plans for the future of this organization, and even wanted placing her at the heart of his own comedy series. However, the creation of a disastrous pilot will put an end to the project.

But what does it matter, instead, the department was eventually introduced in the Spider-Man films. During the opening scene of Homecomingthe organization just acquired by the US Government was dispatched to clean up and recover some extraterrestrial artifacts, after the Battle of New York.

This agent hides in several Spider-Man movies

It was on this occasion that we saw for the first time the Department of Damage Control at work. In the scene, Anne Marie Hoag, director of the organization, and her men, face Adrien Toomes, who will soon become the Vulture. The department will then teach the man that his company is no longer competent for cleaning missions, and that it will be replaced in the future by an official structure created by Stark Industries and the Government.

At the time of the announcement, Adrien Toomes will attack one of the director’s accompanists. It will be Constable Foster, who will be entitled to a right hook in the face, after having thrown an inappropriate remark against the character of Michael Keaton. This unlucky member of the Damage Control Department is an agent that we will find shortly after, in another Spider-Man trilogy movie.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Department of Damage Control will reappear to arrest Peter Parker, following Mysterio’s revelations made in London. It is then Agent Foster who will show up at Aunt May’s doorstep to take young Peter Parker to the cell. We will then find him, one last time, during the interrogation of Ned, led by agent Clearly. A cameo to notebut which went completely unnoticed.
