Last December, Peter Parker returned to our screens on the occasion of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland was no longer the only Parker on screen, however, as Tobby Maguire and Andrew Garfield also took the opportunity to join him. Three Spider-Man for the price of one, a godsend for Spider-Man fans like Daniel Radcliffe. And in a recent interview, the British actor dwelt on his reasons for moving away from the costume, despite having wanted to embody it on screen in the past.
Daniel Radcliffe as Spider-Man?
Daniel Radcliffe is a true Spider-Man fan. The interpreter of Harry Potter between 2001 and 2011 has already expressed his attraction to Marvel’s spider-man. And after the adventures of Tobby Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Radcliffe would have liked to be the new interpreter of the superhero on the screen. Only, the opportunity is no longer relevant and the British actor was therefore questioned by the Insider teams to find out which superhero the actor would see himself playing for a possible project.
After lending his features to Harry Potter for a decade, Radcliffe would have seen himself playing a superhero. But which one? Insider wanted an answer and therefore asked the question to the first interested party. Of course, Radcliffe has made no secret of his interest in playing Spider-Man on screen. Only, this idea had time to germinate, and even to rot:
“As with anything, if it was cool, weird, different, and I really liked something, then I absolutely would. The role that would suit me best has already been performed by three very good actors. Tom Holland is amazing and no one will ever be able to replace him so I’m gonna drop this role.”
It would seem that Daniel Radcliffe has dropped the idea of playing the spider-man on the screen. Nevertheless, it’s a safe bet that the British actor will still accept the role if ever it is offered to him. Additionally, with the notion of the Multiverse now ingrained in Marvel’s minds and genes, it is possible that Radcliffe will one day appear as Peter Parker on the occasion of a possible cameo.
