At the very end of 2021, we learned that Nicholas Cage was going to play the role of Dracula in the film Renfield, and we have been waiting impatiently to discover him in costume. It is now done!

Nicholas Cage58, is working hard to play the iconic vampire Dracula in the film Renfield of Universal, opposite Nicholas Hoult, who for his part embodies the character of Renfield, the vampire’s henchman in Bram Stoker’s original novel, Draculapublished in 1897.

Renfield will be interested, as its name suggests, particularly in the background and personality of RM Renfielda man detained in an insane asylum, suspected of delirium, who is actually one of Dracula’s most faithful servants. Between submission and Renfield’s desire for rebellionthe film promises to be interesting from a psychological point of view.
The film is also directed by Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War), and we just got the first-ever images of the actor in full Dracula attire, with makeup on, his hair slicked back, not only displaying long fingernails, but also many jewels.

In December 2021, Nicholas Cage said on behalf of the “Awards Circuit” podcast of varietywhich he wanted to bring “a touch of novelty to the character”. Specifically, the actor said :
I want the movie to be different from what we’ve seen so far. So I think I’m focusing on the movement of the character. (…) I want to look at what we can explore with this movement and this voice.
