Fans have high hopes for the next Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and each information on the latter is therefore scrutinized. The news of the day should not please everyone, however, since it directly concerns one of the fan favorite villains.

An exiled villain

lucasfilm is finally gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated upcoming star wars series, which sees Ewan McGregor return as Obi-Wan Kenobi. The six-episode series is directed by Deborah Chow from The Mandalorian and will begin streaming on Disney+ at the end of May 2022. After keeping fans waiting for years to see Obi-Wan againwe are starting to know a little more about this series, especially thanks to the broadcast of the first trailer of the series.

And apart from this first trailer, which has been talked about a lot, we just learned that Darth Maul will not appear in Obi-Wan Kenobithe Star Wars villain having simply been deleted from the Disney+ series.

Conflicting sources

Many fans wondered if we could see, in the series, the return of Darth Maul, Kenobi’s longtime enemy. Well, according to a new report from THR, Darth Maul will not appear in the series. However, it is also revealed that everything had been prepared for his return to the screen. Ray Parkwho played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Solo: A Star Wars Story, was preparing to return.

However, creative changes to the series resulted in the removal (quite simply) of the role of Darth Maul. For their part, representatives of Lucasfilm have denied any plans to include the character in the series, but the sources of THR claim the opposite. Either way, we won’t see Darth Maul within the next Star Wars series.
