While fans of Star Wars looking forward to the series Obi-Wan KenobiDisney+ has decided to postpone its launch.
Bad news and good news
Announced in 2019, series Obi-Wan Kenobi is eagerly awaited by fans of Star Wars. And we understand why. Grounded in prequel nostalgia, this six-episode series holds a lot of promise, including the return of actors Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen respectively in the roles of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader.
If the series The Mandalorianset in the universe of Star Warsaccompanied (brilliantly) the launch of the Disney+ platform, fans had to be patient to discover the other series from the universe created by George Lucas. Indeed, the second live-action series Star Wars, The Boba Fett Bookwas released at the end of 2021, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is only the third series in live actionout of all those announced at the end of 2019.
The patience of the fans has been even more tested regarding the series Obi-Wan Kenobi than the promotion finally started very late. While we were hoping for a trailer on the occasion of the last Disney + Day or during the Super Bowl, the latter showed the tip of its nose only from March 11.

March 31, 2022
Initially scheduled for May 25, 2022, we learn that the series was eventually moved to a later date. Rest assured, Obi-Wan Kenobi will not suffer the same fate as the series The Last Of Us from HBO, first scheduled for 2022 and which will finally be released in 2023. On the contrary, the series will be released just two days after the previously announced date: May 27, 2022.
The news was announced on the show’s Twitter page by Ewan McGregor himself. However, it comes with much more satisfying news. : indeed, it will not be one, but two episodes which will be broadcast on the day of the launch ofObi-Wan Kenobias was the case with the series Wanda Vision release on the same platform in early 2021.
However, one can wonder about the reasons for the shift in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Indeed, not content to be broadcast on the same day as one of the most important series of the Netflix competitor, Disney had announced that it wanted to use Wednesday as the release window for its most anticipated series. It remains to be seen now if all the episodes will be released on Fridays, or if Disney will restore the tradition of Wednesdays from episode 3.
However, one can wonder whether the publication of the series Ms.Marvelwhose trailer was recently unveiled, from Wednesday June 8 would not be one of the reasons for Disney’s decision to move the series to Friday Obi-Wan Kenobiso that the series Star Wars does not compete with the Marvel series.
