Netflix: this series with superheroes finally canceled after 2 seasons

The series with superheroes are multiple, including on the Netflix platform. Unfortunately, some of them will never have a sequel, like Jupiter’s Legacy. And today we learn that another superhero series will undergo the same fate.

Many series canceled due to poor performance

Previously, we made a case explaining how the future of a series was defined by Netflix. According to Wired, Netflix would base its renewal policy above all on the examination of the audience of a production, according to its cost of renewal and the proportional cost of producing the series in relation to the number of spectators. The second factor that will influence whether or not production continues is based on the audience data points. Clear, Netflix analyzes the figures for the first month of a series currently airing. Finally, the platform will observe the total number of subscribers who watch the series concerned. And this is after analysis of these different data that the decision to maintain or not the series will be made.

What’s more, the series usually needs to generate a lot of excitement to benefit from more than 3 or 4 seasonssince Netflix finds it more difficult to attract new viewers to series with very many seasons (which tend to discourage those who would be tempted by the experience, but who would not want to invest too much time in viewing). And some of these cancellations are making a lot of noise, like the most recent one, which we tell you about in this article.

The promising new series that was just canceled

After only two seasons on the streaming serviceNetflix officially canceled the series How to Raise a Superhero (Raising Dion in VO), produced by Michael B. Jordan, a superhero drama which first aired in 2019. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Dennis Liu, How to Raise a Superhero follows the story of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young) after Dion has begun to manifest several mysterious abilitiessimilar to those of superheroes.

The second season follows Dion as the latter continues to hone his powers with the support of his mother and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his trainer. After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner), another child with powers, a series of alarming events occur and Dion must face new dangers.

The reviews for the series have so far been relatively good, with the latter acclaiming the substantive subjects treated implicitly by the series, such as the fight against racism. On IMDb for example, the score of the series is 7.1/10with 14,324 votes. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a score of 83%. If the third season was canceled, it is possible that it is for lack of audience, therefore.
