Netflix: after Don't Look Up, Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo are a hit with this new SF film

As you know, we regularly offer you reviews of the most watched films and series of the moment on the Netflix platform, so you can know what to expect before pressing the “Play” button. And today, we invite you to take a closer look at the film that prances in mind Netflix trends in France.

The new movie of the moment on Netflix

Surely you have already heard, in recent months, from the movie The Adam Projectknown in France as Adam through time. This film has been talked about a lot, not only since it is a science fiction film directed by Shawn Levy, but also because its five-star cast made us dream a little. In fact, we find Ryan Reynolds in the role of Adam, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garneror Zoe Saldana.

The synopsis of the movie itself is rather short: a pilot travels through time and meets the child he was. Together, this unlikely duo goes in search of their missing father, in order to save the future.

What is the movie Adam through time really worth?

First, let’s start from a simple premise: Adam through time sometimes sorely lacking in explanations, and one can either think that it serves the film (keeping a part of mystery on certain points can please the spectators), or that it spoils it (especially if one considers these omissions as real script pirouettes). From a personal point of view, it is detrimental to hardly develop the “world of the future” from which Adam comes (in 2050), which allows time travel. Granted, the movie doesn’t focus on that, but right now, with the plethora of productions evoking time travel, it would have been interesting to see How? ‘Or’ What Adam through time stands out on this specific point. “He stands out precisely by not telling us about it”, some will say, but isn’t that a tad too easy? Let’s move on.

The duo formed by Adam-adult and Adam-child works very well, and this dynamic carries the film. We are with Adam through time, in a film that dwells on specific themes, and in particular that of introspection. Time travel allows you to question yourself, and to go in search of what makes you yourself through different time strata. But if we want to go “further” in the script analysis, the story that is told to us has a taste of reheating. We attend to a scenario that we have already seen several times, and no, despite all our patience, Adam through time does not stand out from all the other productions that evoke time travel. A banal story, with twists already seen, all with a five-star cast. A film that can be followed, with quite endearing charactersbut which disappointed the hopes we had for it.

On our side, we hope to have your feedback on this film, and so we’ll start by asking you if you plan to see it. To answer this question, you can use our survey, or our comments area.
