Just a week away the exit of Morbius, Jared Leto is busy promoting the new Marvel/Sony movie. He was also, last night, in Paris to present the preview of the feature film at Gaumont Marignan. As he continues the interviews, the actor stopped on the possibility of a crossover with another character from the Marvel universe. And he has some pretty interesting ideas in store.
What is Morbius?
Expected March 30, Morbius is the new movie from the Marvel/Sony universe. After the first two films Venom and Spider-Man: Next Generation, Morbius is the fourth film of the Marvel/Sony era to see the light of day. And there are many more to come in the future: Kraven the Hunter, Madama Webetc.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Close Security, Life – Unknown Origin), Morbius centers on Dr. Michael Morbius, a physically degenerated professor with an interest in bats. As he finds a cure for his disability, the side effects turn him into a living vampire. Besides the presence of Jared Leto in the title rolethe rest of the cast also includes Matt Smith, Tyrese Gibson and even Michael Keaton back as the Vulture.
Jared Leto wants a crossover with these heroes
In full promotion of Morbius, Jared Leto continues the interviews. Passing by Screen Ranthe was asked if he would like to have Interaction as Morbius with other characters from the Marvel stable. The latter then replied that he would very much like to cross paths from Iron Man or Venom:
Besides Robert Downey’s Iron Man, there are so many people who would be fantastic. But, of course, Venom would make a lot of sense. It would be fun.
To meet Iron Man, it’s going to be a bit complicated. As a reminder, the character died in Avengers: Endgame, and actor Robert Downey Jr. doesn’t seem willing to reprise the role of billionaire Tony Stark. Either way, it needs Marvel Studios to move on and leave the Iron Man legend behind. On the other hand, a crossover with Venom makes sense. The two characters presumably evolve in the same universe. And if it’s not yet, both sagas belong to Sony. The firm will therefore have no difficulty in producing a crossover between Morbius and Venom. It may even be that the company is already considering such a project.
