The Marvel Universe is filled with so many powerful characters – superheroes and villains alike – that it’s hard to name the most powerful of them all with certainty. Everyone has their opinion on the matter, and this is also the case within the cast of MCU films and series. Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff), for example, has a clear-cut opinion on the matter.
A character at the center of Doctor Strange 2
The hype keeps building as in less than three days, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally be able to discover Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, six years after the first installment and a few months after the former Sorcerer Supreme played by Benedict Cumberbatch appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
While he will once again have to protect the world from the multiverse, Strange will call on Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, to help her. But it could very well be that it turns to the dark side of the force and thatshe does not become one of the main antagonists of the film. If this remains to be verified, the confrontation between Doctor Strange and the one who has now fully become the Scarlet Witch seems particularly promising.
But the latter may well have the advantage: according to her interpreter, Elizabeth Olsen, her character would be more powerful than her male counterpart, and would also be the most powerful in the MCU!
Wanda Maximoff, the most powerful character in the MCU?
Not everyone will agree with the 33-year-old actress, but her view that her Wanda Maximoff character would be the most powerful in the MCU seems cut and dried, as she recently demonstrated during a recent interview given as part of the promotion for the second installment of Doctor Strange.
“I think Wanda can beat anyone. She’s her worst enemy. She always has to make the choice to step back from something. I think she is the most powerful in the MCU.”

Without taking into account the fact that a clash between Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange seems to be increasingly on the horizon, it would therefore seem that if we have not yet been able to truly realize the power of the Scarlet Witch in the MCU, so it’s becauseshe never allowed herself to express her full potential. We can nevertheless hope that this will change in the coming years, and perhaps even this Wednesday, May 4! Because between the fact that Wanda was entitled to her own mini-series on Disney+ at the start of 2021 and the fact that she seems more and more powerful and important to the story the more time passes, iIt would seem logical that she would take center stage in the rest of the MCU’s Phase IV.
We can’t wait to see what’s going on in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, available in our dark rooms from this Wednesday, May 4, 2022!
