The Karl Koch test aims to analyze our personality. Although it is very simple, and is often used with children… It is also a rather precise self-analysis tool to allow us to know ourselves a little better. The Karl Koch tree test can thus reveal emotional information about us.
It is usually compared to other tests to make a diagnosis. But we offer it for entertainment purpose only. It is also very easy to do.
You just need to draw a tree with roots, a trunk and a crown. Next, you analyze your drawing design against the test criteria. Everyone can do it. You must therefore be at least 5 or 6 years old, and know how to draw a basic tree.
First you will need a blank sheet of paper, colored pencils and an eraser. Then you will have to draw a tree, with its trunk, roots and branches… The time to do this varies from 10 to 30 minutes. Be spontaneous in drawing and read what the details reveal below.
1. Soil / Roots
Personality test: if the tree has no roots or if there is no line to form the ground… This can therefore indicate a lack of personal and emotional stability.
So, if the tree has roots, but they are disproportionate and in the shape of spokes… This can also indicate some emotional problems. Like hate, anger, hatred and emotional withdrawal.
2. The trunk
Tree test: did you draw a very thin trunk? It is associated with very sensitive, gentle and delicate individuals. Also, on the other hand, it can also indicate the presence of tensions or external demands that alter well-being and calm.
If you drew a very wide trunk, this indicates impulsive people, with high emotionality and a weak disposition to self-control. Also, a trunk with normal proportions therefore suggests a good internal balance.
Did you draw a trunk formed with straight lines? According to this test, you are probably a serious upright person, with a good capacity for abstraction.
3. The crown and the branches
Small branches: Usually, 9-year-olds draw small branches, and it’s completely normal. It can indicate a certain immaturity, a relation to the infantile world.
Large branches: the person who made the drawing has, according to this test, a large imagination. Also, a great enthusiasm, even a certain narcissism.
Spiral branches: it can therefore be someone who is communicative, tasteful, and delicate.
In the shape of rays or sticks: according to this test, you are probably someone stubborn, impulsive, with some resentment or feelings of defiance.
Branches with leaves indicate a dynamic person. Branches with fruits indicate someone with goals to achieve and desires to satisfy.
