The production of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 been progressing quietly for some time now. Despite this, requests for replacing Chris Pratt in the MCU continue to bloom everywhere, which made James Gunn react.

Chris Pratt is an actor who meets regularly at the center of controversy. In the past, he has received many hate messages following his regular attendance at hillsong church, accused of being anti-LGBTQ. A tweet posted on April 24, and calling for Chris Pratt to be replaced in the MCU by Patrick Wilson, ended up going viral. The post sparked the interest of James Gunn, who decided to respond to it quite severely. On the one hand, the director questions the basis of the request and, on the other hand, the latter specifies that any withdrawal from the Cast of Chris Pratt would require a complete overhaul of the film’s cast, but also of the team in charge of the film :
For what? Because of your made-up, utterly-false beliefs about him? For something that someone else told you about him that’s not true? Chris Pratt would never be replaced as Star-Lord but, if he ever was, we would all be going with him.

This message posted by james gunn testifies to the good understanding that exists between the latter and Chris Pratt, but if the director spoke publicly, it is probably also due to something else. In 2018, you may remember, James Gunn was fired by Disney after tweets deemed enough bordeaux have been dug up. Since then, the latter has apologized, and although Disney initially decided to do without his services, the firm finally decided to rehire James Gunn. However, during the dismissal of James Gunn, Chris Pratt had not hesitated to defend his friend. It is therefore not surprising that James Gunn in turn takes his defenseespecially since he feels the hate Chris Pratt receives is unwarranted.
