It has been more than 20 years since the franchise of Fast and Furious regularly invades our cinemas, through nine main films and two spin-offs, in addition to a few parallel projects. The tenth and penultimate numbered part should land in May 2023, but it may well be that the schedule initially planned finds itself somewhat disrupted.
Indeed, we learned a few days ago that the director Justin Lin had suddenly decided to leave the ship without explanation… or almost. Yesterday, we revealed to you that anonymous sources denounced tensions between the historical director of the franchise (behind five films) and Vin Diesel, apparently far from taking his role seriously.
It was therefore necessary to quickly find a solution, and this one is called Louis Leterrier! According to varietythe 48-year-old Frenchman takes the reins of Fast and Furious 10.
A renowned French director at the helm
Let us immediately specify that the information remains to be taken with tweezers because it has not yet been officially confirmed by the production, but the sources of the American media are generally well informed. According to these, it is therefore the French director Louis Leterrier who takes over and who will have to adapt as best he can to this particular context: production already started a few days ago, and its predecessor has already put much of its creative vision into place.
The conditions are therefore not ideal for Louis Leterrier, in whom we can still trust. The guy is indeed a regular at big American blockbusters, sincewe find him in particular in the realization of the first two parts of the Carrier, as well as The Incredible Hulk. He is also accustomed to French productions on a “smaller” scale, having directed three episodes of the series Lupine and directed the film far from the ring roadwhich will be released later this year.
As for Fast and Furious 10the feature film should see the light of day on May 24, 2023 and will have a hell of a cast!
