Many are the rumors relating to the return or not of eminent characters of the Marvel stable on the occasion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, scheduled for this spring. And if some are running out of steam, others, on the contrary, are gradually being confirmed.
An anthology of expected characters
The promotional campaign around Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in full swing, while the film is expected in theaters on May 6, 2022, a full month. Between trailers, short teasers or announcements of all kinds, the mystery is gradually dissipating around what will be the salt of Sam Raimi’s feature film (notably known for his horror films or for having directed the first trilogy Spiderman).
As the announcements are unveiled, the cast of characters expands, which is not surprising when you know that the film will focus on exploring the multiverse, its alternate realities, and therefore a whole anthology of cameos and characters from the house of ideas (Professor Charles Xavier, different versions of Doctor Strange, and why not Loki, Mobius, Mr Fantastic, or Tobey Maguire…?).

Here is a recent trailerwhich looks like a commercial, has just appeared on YouTube, where we see Wanda Maximoff kneels before Billy and Tommy, her twin sons. This echoes the first official trailer, which revealed that the film would follow the events of the series Wanda Visionand which suggested that Scarlet Witch would do anything to find her children in the multiverse, when Westview’s false reality crumbled. As a reminder, we hear their voice in the post-credits sceneas Wanda reads the Darkhold.
Beyond this possible return, the TV spot reveals one of the evil variants of Doctor Strange. In one of the scenes, we notice the presence of Sinister Strange, with a third eye on his forehead. After destroying the boundaries between realities, we know that the wizard will face several versions of himself, following the consequences of his actions in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sinister Strange is one of them.
Other rumors
On the other hand, many rumors and controversies surround the presence or not of characters from the Marvel stable. Let’s mention Wolverine, Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man, Deadpool, Captain Carter, or even Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. So beautiful people.
In contrast, speculation linking James Marsden (Cyclops) and Doctor Strange 2 can already be buried, since the actor has confirmed that he was not part of the cast.
