The trailer of Doctor Strange 2 revealed to us an overview of the different plots revealed in this sequel. While Stephen Strange will be haunted by a recurring nightmare in which he sees the dilapidated Sanctum Sanctorum, reality also wants him to face an evil alternate version of himself. Luckily, Doctor Strange Defender, another variant of the superhero could lend him a hand against the various threats of the multiverse, just like America Chavez. But now that we know what trajectory Wanda Maximoff took, the concept of good and bad is literally questioned.

Benedict Cumberbatch, a hero in real life

Regarding Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor is not enough to embody a superhero on the screen. In real life, the star of Marvel also responds to his duty to help the less fortunate. As he revealed this week on the red carpet for his new movie, he is preparing to take in a family of Ukrainian refugees at his home while the country is still being invaded by Russia. This is what he revealed to variety :

They came out of Ukraine; I monitor their progress daily. Unfortunately, they are undergoing medical treatment. To say more about it would be an invasion of their privacy, and to talk too much about their arrival and how it is handled would invade mine. I want to give them some stability after the turmoil they’ve been through, and that’s my home.

If Benedict Cumberbatch is going to make the daily life of this family less painful, he would like to help other victims in the same case : “I have tried to help other Ukrainian families by encouraging British nationals to house refugees in their homes, which they want to do, but it is very expensive”. The actor is currently involved with the NGO Refugees at Home and does its best to support the organizers in this mission. The star of Doctor Strange also highlighted the lack “specialized psychologists” necessary to help refugees in the event of trauma. “As gentle and generous and welcoming as we are as hosts, we don’t have the skills of mental health professionals to necessarily deal with these things”. A real hero.
