In partnership with Gameloft, disney recently announced the forthcoming release of several titles inspired by its popular lore. One of them will be called Disney Dreamlight Valley, and will aim to immerse you in a “hybrid experience mixing adventure and life simulation”. The game will soon be accessible in early access for some lucky players…
Disney invites you to participate in this magical adventure
In Disney Dreamlight Valleyfans of the brand’s universe will be invited to share an exceptional adventure alongside their favorite characters. The game is described as a kind of “Sims-like”, which will offer you to create an avatar and an entire village, in addition to giving you the possibility of personalizing all this (your home too, of course!) using resources that you will have harvested beforehand, by gardening or fishing for example.
The game seems to be heavily inspired by the formula of sims or evenAnimal Crossing, with the difference that the title will take its mark in the Disney universe. During his adventure, the player will then be led to forge links with a slew of well-known characters, like Buzz Lightyear, Elsa or Pumbaa, to recite nobody else but them.
The player will also be taken to meet very popular villains from the Disney/Pixar universe. The plot of the game will ask him to save his village from destruction, even though it was destroyed by the Nocturnal Thorns after a cataclysm known as Oblivion.
Disney is betting on accessibility
For the business model of the game, Disney decided to focus on free-to-play. Disney Dreamlight Valley will therefore be accessible completely free of charge, but will still offer some paid features. Although we don’t yet know what form these will take, we can bet on customization elements, such as decorations for your home or outfits to dress up your avatar.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is expected on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch for 2023. The game will benefit from early access from this summer accessible for owners of the Xbox Game Pass and other players who have chosen to acquire a Founder’s Pack, the price of which has not yet been revealed.
