Probably considered one of Super hero the most popular in the world, all franchises combined, Superman is appreciated by all because it represents the very essence of the superhero, its origins allowing him to shape himself and become the character he is today. However, there is other versions of Supermanespecially one that didn’t have the same luck as clark kentand who had a much more tragic fate.

the (not) fabulous destiny of kal-el in flashpoint
DC Comics reminds readers that the Superman introduced in the comics flash point has one of the darkest origins of the whole universe. And in Flashpoint Beyond #0the world takes notice of previously redacted files regarding the catastrophic arrival of Superman on Earth.
As reminded ScreenRantin the chronology of events occurring in the flash point from DC Comics, Kal-El never arrived in Kansas after his parents send him to Earth following the impending destruction of his home planet Krypton. Instead, Kal-El crashed into Metropolis, killing many innocent people. And this time, it’s not the Kent family who will find and collect the child, but the government, who will turn Kal-El into “Subject One”.a super-soldier formatted to be used as a weapon against the greatest threats in the universe.
However, the Superman of flash point normally ceased to exist after Flash repaired the timeline. But with the return of the Batman from flash point in the previously destroyed realitythe audience then learns about one of Superman’s darkest origins.
an alternate reality that returns
In the new comics Flashpoint Beyond #0 out this week, directed by Eduardo Risso and Geoff Johns, Thomas Wayne continues his investigations in the Batcave in order to understand how the Flashpoint reality returned. And next to him is a television, on which we can see a presenter discussing the ongoing deadly war between the Amazons and the Atlanteans, but also the disappearance of Earth’s greatest heroes as well as what happened to the ” Superman”.
Readers then learn that the CBI (Central Bureau of Intelligence) has released hundreds of classified documents about the arrival of Subject One, thirty years earlier. Its crash landing in Metropolis would have cost the lives of more than 35,000 people.then interpreted as the first sign of the threat of a future alien invasion.
The fact of quantifying the number of deaths after the arrival of the Superman of flash point on Earth certainly emphasizes its dark origins, even though Kal-El didn’t intentionally kill anyone. With the release of these CBI documents and the announcement made to the public, a war seems about to break out in this alternate reality. And DC Comics having already announced a future battle between Batman and Supermanwe can think that the superhero will not remain long in the shadows following this revelation.
Whether ally or foe, Subject One aka Superman from reality flash pointhas one of the deadliest (unintentionally) track records in its universe. His dark origins and weaponization by the government could make him one of the Dark Knight’s greatest threats.. But it’s also possible that Superman is looking to redeem himself and join Thomas Wayne in his quest to make the world a better place. For it, we will have to wait for the continuation in the next issues of Flashpoint Beyond.
