Black Panther 2: this iconic villain of the MCU will make a comeback

This iconic villain from the first film will make a comeback in Black Panther 2. His involvement may make mischief within Wakanda…

Black Panther 2 : Which characters will be back?

On November 9, 2022, MCU fans will be able to discover Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, four years after the release of the first film. This sequel will unfortunately be deprived of its hero, Chadwick Boseman, interpreter of the main character, who tragically died in August 2020 of colon cancer. If this sad news necessarily disrupted production for a few months, the shooting of Black Panther 2 is officially closed. Wakanda Forever will be an opportunity to find important secondary characters from the first part such as Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), W’Kabi (Daniel Kuluuya), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o ). If the bets are already launched, it will also be a question of who will inherit the throne of Wakanda after the death of T’Challa. While fans first thought of her sister Shuri, many clues suggest that it is M’Baku who could have this role.

In the meantime, despite this tragic loss, Wakanda will have to step forward and support its people as they will not be spared in Black Panther 2. While the arrival of the great Namor has been teased by several leaks for a few months, Shuri, Okoye and the others could have to face another iconic MCU villain. Worse still, an association of the latter and Namor. According to the exclusive information of the site ScreenGeek, Killmonger would be back in this sequel, still played by Michael B. Jordan on screen. How is that possible you ask? Within Wakanda, there are what is called the Ancestral Plan.

Killmonger as Namor’s mentor?

It’s about of a dimension where the souls of the deceased can meet and communicate with the living. In Black Panther, we notably saw Killmonger facing his deceased father. This is not the only surprising information to remember. Not only would Killmonger return to the Black Panther universe, but for a specific mission: train and take under his wing “a young hero”.

We can therefore easily imagine that the character concerned would be Namor, an anti-hero who dwells in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Killmonger could share his thoughts on the last conflict with Wakanda and motivate him to avenge him. Inasmuch as leader of the underwater nation of Atlantis, it’s totally up to him. After Thanos’ snap, he might resent humans and do anything to destroy their civilization. This is partly what happens in the Marvel comics: Namor is infamous for flooding the entire town of T’Challa. It remains to be seen what would be the main reasons for his conflict with the people of T’Challa.

A cause of the conflict related to the last decision made by T’Challa?

Now that Wakanda has enabled the whole world to take advantage of technological advances, we imagine that disastrous consequences will flow from this initiative. Some may feel that they never get enough, while others will seek to take all that belongs to Wakanda. Rumor has it that the cause of all this conflict is Dominque Thorne’s Riri Williams, aka Ironheart. One of his inventions is supposed start the conflict between the two nations ; but what could this mysterious object be?

If we trust the synopsis unveiled by Marvel a few months ago, we are told that “Wakanda was afraid that their technology would be misused. Atlantis was afraid that people from the surface would come to visit and desecrate their city as had been the case so long ago.” It is then added that “Their fears are further intensified when these two nations decide to face each other”. The history of Wakanda and that of Atlantis are incredibly linked and go back a very long way. If Wakanda is the only nation with Vibranium technology, his power is now known to the whole world. One can imagine that many antagonists straight from Earth will be in search of Vibranium, a rare compound opening the door to countless possibilities…

For now, the trailer for Black Panther 2 has still not been revealed by Marvel Studios. Now that the shots are officially wrapped, we can imagine that the first images will soon be revealed to the public. Still a little patience before having a clear and precise outline of the intrigues of Black Panther 2expected in November 2022 in dark rooms!
