Almost a year after the death of Kentaro Miurathe legendary author of Berserka fan has just imagined and drawn the end of the famous Dark Fantasy manga.
An unofficial ending worth reading
A year later, fans are still having a hard time swallowing the death of the gigantic Kentaro Miura, who died of complications from an aortic dissection. Indeed, in addition to losing a legendary artist, fans also lose the possibility of discovering the continuation of the adventures of Guts and Casca. In effect, despite the promise of Kentaro Miura’s assistant to pick up the manga where he left off to offer fans a worthy ending, the publisher has still not communicated any decision in this directionand the hope of one day reading the official end of Berserk seems to be fading day by day.
Thereby, the last chapter written and drawn by Kentaro Miura (the 364), released posthumously in September 2021, could well be the final chapter of the adventures of Guts and his gang. As a reminder, the chapter ended with a shocking revelation : the mysterious child, who followed Guts and Casca, and who appeared and disappeared on full moon nights, was in fact… Griffith. The latter also appeared before the amazed eyes of his former companions.
A chapter that caused a stir among fans of Berserk, who once again praised the immense talent of storyteller and designer of Kentaro Miura, some having not hesitated to qualify the chapter as one of the most moving in the history of manga. As a reminder, French fans will be able to discover it in volume 41, scheduled for Glénat Manga for the month of July 2022, and which will contain the last chapters written and drawn by the master mangaka.
However, thisome readers are not resigned to the idea of not having a real end to Berserk. This fan-art picks up from the end of the last chapter. Guts decides to engage in combat against Griffith to achieve his revenge, but must first fight against Zodd the Immortal, one of the right arms of the King of Falconia. First collapsed, Casca decides to rescue Guts, before trying to stop him, when he lets himself be overwhelmed by his hatred.
If this end is obviously not official, we will nevertheless salute the incredible work of the artist, who worked a lot on the cutting of the boards, the typeface, etc. We can’t wait to discover the rest of the boards from @Thephiasco.
