Has your baking paper run out of steam? Do not panic ! Here are 9 tips you may not be able to do without.
Replace the baking paper with a baking mat
Practical and above all economical tip! The silicone baking mat is a zero waste alternative to parchment paper. Indeed the silicone mat can be cleaned and reused at will and does not require any addition of fat! Long reserved for the kitchens of great chefs, the latter is easily found on the market.
Use a reusable fiberglass baking sheet
However, if you dislike the silicone baking mat due to its plastic content… We recommend turning to a reusable fiberglass baking sheet.
Also economical and washable with a sponge… The baking sheet can be cut to suit your needs and withstand temperatures of up to 260°C.
Butter and flour the mold
An essential tip from grandma! To line your mold well, grease the bottom of your dish with butter, using a brush to reach any cavities… Then sprinkle the whole thing with flour. No need for baking paper!
Also flour the baking sheets.
The trick also works for hotplates! Apply fat and dust with flour to accommodate your delicious preparations.
Use beeswax instead of baking paper
Edible beeswax is very effective for lining a mold or a baking sheet while giving food a good taste of honey. However, beeswax is more expensive and a little hard to find. Usually sold as nuggets or flakes…. To use it, all you have to do is melt it and spread it inside the mold using a brush.
Replace the baking paper with a silicone mold
Available in supermarkets, discount stores or specialized stores… These utensils, which are light and easy to store, can withstand extreme temperatures.
Indeed, as with baking mats, no addition of fat is necessary. On the other hand, this lack of rigidity does not facilitate oven loading. We therefore advise you to place your silicone mold on a plate before filling it and putting it in the oven.
Line the bottom of the mold with edible leaves
As surprising as it may seem. This trick with edible leaves also allows you to replace the baking paper. First, get edible leaves such as lettuce, chard or fresh spinach. Wash them and then arrange them at the bottom of the mold that will accommodate your preparation.
Reuse used parchment paper
Your last baking did not damage your sheet of parchment paper too much? Don’t be afraid to keep it and reuse it for another preparation! As long as it is not crumbly and has not blackened, it can still be used.
What about aluminum foil?
Warning ! The use of aluminum foil to replace baking paper is not recommended. Indeed, the latter is considered a neurotoxin capable of transferring its particles to food. A good reason to forget about it in favor of another cooking accessory.
