Doctor Strange 2: the Marvel film puts an end to this debate on Scarlet Witch

Since May 4, 2022, Doctor Strange 2 is playing in French cinemas. If it helps find out how Stephen Strange copes to the terrible consequences of the introduction of the multiverseSam Raimi’s film also makes it possible to answer a heated question. The debate around Scarlet Witch and her powers is definitely closed !

Warning! Spoilers for Doctor Strange 2 appear in this article. It’s up to you to continue reading, or not.

Doctor Strange 2a plot centered on the affront between Stephen and the antagonist

Among the most anticipated MCU films of the yearthere is necessarily Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but fans were especially eager to find out Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. During just over two hours of action, Stephen Strange notably meets America Chaveznew heroine to integrate the MCU, but also of Cléa during the post-generic scene of the film.

If the exploration of the multiverse was obviously part of the plot of Doctor Strange 2most of the story centered on the clash between Stephen Strange and Scarlet Witch. The one we knew as Wanda Maximoff decided to seize the Darkhold, an extremely powerful book of black magic, in order to find his fictional twins in an alternate universe. The Scarlet Witch has shown herself to be literally demonic, a narrative development that surprised many fans. However, if Wanda decided to put an end to her actions by destroying the Darkhold at the end of the film, Elizabeth Olsen, her interpreter, still defends the actions of her character. In her eyes, you can’t blame her heroine after everything she’s been through, though she admits she’s caused havoc everywhere she’s set foot. Although Doctor Strange 2 leaves Wanda Maximoff’s future up in the air, Elizabeth Olsen would be ready to reprise her role in a solo film on one specific condition.

Doctor Strange 2 : the film makes everyone agree on this thorny question

While waiting to learn more about the character’s future in the MCU, it is important to note that Doctor Strange 2 ended a long (too long) debate about him. If Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said months ago that Scarlet Witch was the most powerful heroine in the franchise, many fans were stubborn to find her competitors who could potentially beat her. The name of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has been mentioned many times, but yet, its alternate version presented in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness been battered. Although Scarlet Witch didn’t face Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel, one can imagine that the heroines enjoy the same powers in the Earth-838 and Earth-616 universes.

It must be admitted that of all the members of the Illuminati, Captain Marvel has been the most difficult superheroine to destroybut in the end, Scarlet Witch still managed to crush her through a huge statue that fell on her body. Doctor Strange 2 put an end to this long-standing debate: Scarlet Witch Is (Or Was Depending On Her Character’s Future) The Most Powerful Heroine In The Marvel Franchise. End of the story ?
