We present here 8 easter eggs difficult to identify contained in the postology, between the improvisation of Chewbacca or this link between Finn and Leia.
#1 Luke Skywalker’s Footsteps Don’t Mark The Ground
great moment of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, the lightsaber fight between Luke Skywlaker and Kylo Ren ends in defeat for the Jedi master. However, it is actually a hologram, with Luke actually being on his island. With this prowess, he delayed the First Order and allowed the Rebels to flee and escape certain death.
But during the confrontation, some clairvoyants may have noticed that when he moves, Luke leaves no marks on the salt-covered floor, while Kylo Ren leaves big red marks. Eye for detail.
#2 One of the bombs has the inscription “Han greets you“
During the First Order evacuation and pursuit scene at the start of Episode 8, The Last Jedi, one of the battleship’s bombs bears a mysterious inscription.
This one, written in language Aurebesh (a standard translation scripture in the galaxy) means ” Han greets you “. A nice easter eggs slipped and confirmed by Rian Johnson himself, the director of the film. A way to avenge the death of the famous smuggler and father of Ren in the previous opus.
#3 Luke winks at C-3PO
In episode 8, Luke winks at C-3PO when he arrives at the abandoned rebel base. A gesture of complicity which certainly means that the droid spotted that Luke was not really present. In addition, it is also a question of perpetuating the emotional bond which unites two iconic characters of the saga.
#4 Finn and Leia have the same number
Princess Leia’s inmate number and Finn’s stormtrooper number are the same. During the rescue of Princess Leia by Luke, Han, Obi-Wan and Chewbacca in episode 4, the name of his cell bears the inscription 2187.
On his side, Finn’s First Order trooper serial number in the 7th installment is FN-2187. A way to pay homage to the first trilogy, and to create an inter-generational bridge with the passing of the torch of resistance.
But the story of this easter eggs actually goes back much further. Before the release of Star Wars: A New Hope, George Lucas had the idea to make the film under the influence of several filmmakers. One of them is Arthur Lipsett and his short film 21-87.
#5 Chewbacca improvisation
In The force awakens, Han Solo drops his parka during a scene. Later, Chewbacca gives it back to him, which provokes a slight reaction of astonishment from the smuggler played by Harrison Ford.
This reaction is due to the fact that said scene is not included in the script, and was therefore improvised by Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo. He later confirmed this to Hollywood Reporter.
#6 A reference to JJ Abrams’ studio
In The Rise of SkywalkerBabu Frik’s lab where Poe and the others are going on Kijimi is full of droid carcasses. Among them, we note that of the famous robot and mascot of the studio of JJ Abrams and director of the film, Bad Robots.
#7 Luke’s Training Drone Returns
Lightsaber training against Luke’s combat drone on Tatooine in episode 4 (1977) is a cult passage in the saga. In The force awakens, released in 2015, almost 40 years later, the small drone returns, unearthed by Finn on the Millennium Falcon. A beautiful tribute to the very first film released.
#8 Blue squadron is destroyed in RogueOne
