Harry Potter: Daniel Radcliffe reveals he wants this strange reputation

Daniel Radcliffe worked hard to prove to the world thatHarry Potter wasn’t his whole identity. The actor also reveals want to acquire this strange reputation.

Daniel Radcliffe, revealed to the whole world thanks to Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe was known from an early age in the saga Harry Potter. During more than ten years, the actor lent his features to the sorcerer’s apprentice who fascinated the crowds. When Disney+ aired the documentary Back to Hogwarts, fans were delighted to find the actors and actresses who brought the stories invented by JK Rowling to life. If Daniel Radcliffe knows how much this role in the fantastic saga has open doorshe still had to fight for prove to the world that Harry Potter was not his whole identity.

After these films, the actor distinguished himself in very different roles, starting with Ignatus Martin Perrish in Horns. After playing a horned character, Daniel Radcliffe lent his features to the poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings. When he joined the distribution of Swiss Army Man As Manny, a lost man who will befriend a corpse, Daniel Radcliffe has confirmed his reputation for acting in “weird movies”. As he revealed to Radio Times in 2015, this label is far from being pejorative in his eyeson the contrary:

I’m quite happy with the roles I’ve been offered. When you’re known for picking up interesting roles, you have ever-widening choices. I just finished a movie, Swiss Army Man, and it was the weirdest thing I’ve done. I wouldn’t have been sent this script if I didn’t have a reputation for doing weird stuff. I choose by asking myself which experience will make me happiest.

Daniel Radcliffe wants to direct his own film, but he won’t let go of his passion for weird movies

If soon, Daniel Radcliffe intends to add a new string to his bow by writing and directing a film centered on his own story, he does not intend to abandon his acting profession. Interviewed by Empirehe recently claimed to want to continue playing “strange” rolesbecause in his eyes, “have a reputation for being a weird actor” is what all actors are looking for:

I think one of the best things you can do is get a reputation for being weird or liking weird things. Because weird begets weird, and as soon as you do something like Hornsguys are waiting for you in movies like Swiss Army Man. And then the spectators see Swiss Army Manand they’re like, ‘Oh, Guns Akimbo’ . One thing leads to another and that always means I can do some crazy random stuff, which I’m always very happy with.

This particular approach seems to be working for Daniel Radcliffe. If the roles he chooses are not suitable for all audiences, he wants above all choose projects that appeal to him. As a bonus, it is not the cinematographic genres that are lacking: there is something for all tastes and for all styles. Daniel Radcliffe understood this well. What is important to note is that the actor’s ability to branch out into unique roles means he always seems passionate about the projects on which he is working.

Daniel Radcliffe, his future projects

Since the end of the saga Harry PotterDaniel Radcliffe has always fought for show the public that he was capable of other things. A bet more than successful. After being cast as a villain in The Secret of the Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock, the actor was chosen to step into the shoes of Weird Al Yankovic in a biopic dedicated to the comedian and American singer. Again, Daniel Radcliffe shouldn’t need a magic wand to bluff the audience.

“This biopic will hide nothing, exploring all facets of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ (a parody of Michael Jackson’s song ‘Beat It’) and ‘Like a Surgeon” (a parody of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”), his steamy celebrity romances and his notorious depraved lifestyle”, states the synopsis of the film. Weird Al Yankovic was also very enthusiastic at the idea that the actor was chosen for his role. : “I have no doubt this is the role that future generations will remember him for.” For now, no release date has been revealed but the film will be broadcast exclusively on the Roku Channel platform.
