Fantastic Beasts 3: Grindelwald's story has undergone some changes

Highly anticipated by fans of the universe Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts 3 is to be discovered in dark rooms since April 13th. For many, this sequel is considered the best of the three films. The role of Gellert Grindelwald could be there for something: its backstory has also been changed ahead of filming.

Mads Mikkelsen, new interpreter of Grindelwald, validated by the public

Even before its release, Fantastic Beasts 3 had found himself at the heart of a sacred controversy. And for good reason, Johnny Depp, interpreter of Grindelwald in the first two films, made the front page of the tabloids because of his legal war with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Due to all this commotion, Warner Bros. Studios. had thus fired the actor Pirates of the Caribbeanchoosing Mads Mikkelsen as his replacement.

Based on early reviews, Fantastic Beasts 3 rather seems to convince the spectators. I have to say that the role of the villain Gellert Grindelwald is even more important in this sequel, the most formidable black mage of all time wanting to quench his power. For many, Mads Mikkelsen is largely responsible for his success: his portrayal of the antagonist has been validated by fansas does the character’s story arc.

Mads Mikkelsen came up with his own version of the character

On this point, not all credit goes to JK Rowling, author of the books, since actor Mads Mikkelsen contributed to the story of her character. As he explains to THRhe proposed to the writer to alter Grindelwald’s backstory to avoid portraying his character solely as a demonic being : “I wanted him to not just be demagogic right away. My reason is that something happened to his whole family when he was a child, which explains the hatred he has. It’s a universe fantastic, detailed and intricate created by [Rowling], and I wanted to hear his thoughts on that. I hope I will return to this role in the future.”

Mads Mikkelsen therefore offered JK Rowling his own version and interpretation of the character, what the author accepted. The actor was keen to explain the reasons why his character behaves this way, in order to give it more consistency. If fans have noted some flaws to Fantastic Beasts 3, the author’s performance was applauded. For the time being, we do not know if the film derived from the universe ofHarry Potter will get a sequel, but if so, Mads Mikkelsen will reprise his role as Grindelwald gladly!
