It’s about of a first element which sends us back to Madripoora privileged place for the black market and the resale of works of art, which we will talk about a little further.

2) A reference to an old marvel hero

When Layla meets her forger friend, the legends tell us that his name is Lagaro. The latter is credited as a forger, and the character is a reference to another hero with ties to Egypt: Dynaman.

This character first appeared in the number 6 of Daring Mystery Comicsin 1940. The ancient hero, also known as “Lagaro”, was born with powers in a nation that perished. The hero managed to escape to Egypt. There are probably no more links than these between the two characters, but it is a nice wink to this character that many do not know.

3) THE THIRD PERSONALITY OF THE MAIN CHARACTER

While Marc Spector and Steven Grant are convinced that everyone uses the body in turn, it now seems that there is a third personality in their body. This is the theory that has been talked about the most on the Internet. In the comics, a third personality was also associated with Moon Knight : Jake Lockley, a taxi driver.

Jake Lockley.

The other theory that seems likely is that Khonshu is completely taking over Marc/Steven’s body, and that neither Marc nor Stevenis not aware of it at the moment.

Once inside the pyramid, Mark is joined by the other human avatars of the Egyptian gods. He first meets the avatar of Hathor, goddess of music and love, who insinuates that Hathor was Khonshu’s ex. Then everyone comes together “to hear Khonshu’s tale”.

During this meeting with all avatars of egyptian gods, Khonshu blames them for abandoning humanity. And more specifically, the latter accused them of “retiring to their realm and letting humanity do anything”. This kingdom is called “The Overvoid” in the Marvel Universe. In the same way that the Norse gods of the MCU come from Asgard, the gods of ancient Egypt reside in the Overvoid. And these followed the same path as the ancient Norse gods, by visiting the first men in order to be venerated.
