A particularly bankable French actor on the other side of the Atlantic, Jean Dujardin will be at the head of a French series for Amazon’s SVOD platform, Prime Video, in 2023. A project which is already announced already promising and which will bring together beautiful people in front of and behind the camera!
The reunion between Nicolas Bedos and Jean Dujardin
To give visibility to a series today, there’s nothing like forming partnerships with the biggest streaming services such as Netflix or Disney+. As it happens, it is for Prime Video, Amazon’s SVOD platform, that Nicolas Bedos will produce a new French series scheduled for next year.
Not always as popular as his father, Nicolas Bedos is nonetheless a director who has made a name for himself in French cinema. While he is currently working on his feature film Masquerade which will be released at the end of the year with Pierre Niney, it is another key player that he is about to find in the person of Jean Dujardin. Like Niney, he recently worked with Bedos on the third opus ofOSS 117, Red Alert in Black Africa.
Change of atmosphere this time, since if series Alphonse for Prime Video will also be a comedy, it will address very different themes.
A first poster and first info
Alphonse : here is the name taken from the character of Dujardin that will carry the series in six episodes directed by Nicolas Bedos for Prime Video. Scheduled for the month of November 2023, it should offer “an original story tackling the relationships between men and women in a way that should find some resonance in today’s world”, according to producer Alain Goldman, who notably worked on The kid with Marion Cotillard.
If the latter will not be present in Alphonse, the series will still havea hell of a cast: Pierre Arditi, Charlotte Gainsbourg, but also Nicole Garcia will be part of it. Everyone should get together the start of filming in June, while Jean Dujardin should play a man whose primary goal is to seduce women. The opportunity, we can already imagine, to address very topical subjects. To make us wait, a first poster was unveiled to us.
Series Alphonse is set to release in November 2023, exclusively on Prime Video.
