The great thing about superheroes is that as soon as you feel like you’ve discovered the ultimate version of one of them, you eventually discover that this one can be even more powerful. . Hulk is a typical case of the genre, but it is another character from the Marvel universe that interests us today. Indeed, the Silver Surfer may well have unwittingly managed to build the most powerful team of superheroes to date.
A new project centered on the Silver Surfer
Beyond its cinematographic universe, Marvel continues to surprise us through other media, comics in mind. It is indeed exclusively with comics that the Marvel universe has developed for a long time, before expanding and breaking through on television and especially in cinema with the MCU. If the latter allows us to (re)discover cult superheroes, some absences are notable: no X-Men, or members of the Fantastic Four.
Yet it is one of them, the Silver Surfer, that interests us today. First appeared in 1966 in Fantastic Four #48he has recently back in a new series of comics soberly titled Silver Surfer Rebirth. In the third issue, the latest, he forms a team of five superheroes in spite of himself which could prove to be particularly formidable. This one consists of the Silver Surfer, the Silver Surfer, the Silver Surfer, the Silver Surfer and… the Silver Surfer. We explain to you.
the rivalry between the silver surfer and galactus
In old comics, the superhero once known as Norrin Radd had to collaborate in spite of himself with Galactus, a cosmic entity that drains energy from the planets to gain power. The Silver Surfer had then helped him in his task, against the promise that the entity would leave his home planet in peace. He obviously ended up being freed by Galactus, who had in passing provided him with a tiny amount of his incredible “cosmic” power. The two end up in the series, however. Silver Surfer Rebirth, as the Silver Surfer explores the universe in search of the Reality Stone.
Determined not to let it go again, a fight breaks out between the cosmic entity and him. That’s when it appears a mysterious portal, from which four other versions of the character emerge. For the time being, it is not explained to us whether these are past and future versions of the superhero, or even Silver Surfers from parallel universes, like the three Spider-Men. of No Way Home.
the most powerful superhero team in the universe?
At any rate, each of them possesses the “cosmic power”, one of the most powerful in the entire Marvel universe, able to absorb and manipulate the cosmic energies of the universe. This allows them to acquire abilities such as teleportation, near-invincibility or the ability to read minds. Add to this the fact thatall five of them can move faster than light, go back in time, survive the vacuum of space, or even manipulate gravity, among other things.
So it doesn’t take a Marvel expert to figure out that with these incredible powers multiplied by five, the Silver Surfer team can now face cosmic entities such as Galactus, making one of the most powerful superhero alliances ever.
