Marvel: this link between Moon Knight and Doctor Strange 2 that could change everything for Wanda

The first episode of Moon Knight has found its audience, given the extremely positive reviews on the internet. We will discuss, within this article, the potential links that will exist between this series and the film Doctor Strange 2, highly anticipated by fans. But to understand this article, do not hesitate to read our file on the first episode first, which will allow you to understand the still unclear points that were presented in the first episode.

The Moon Knight series, a totally independent series?

Moon Knight unlike any other MCU series to date. It’s not just because the series took a very different narrative approach, it’s also because she has no obvious connection to the MCU, which means she’s independent (for now). This does not, of course, mean that synergies do not exist. Interestingly indeed, the latest episode of Moon Knight will air on May 4, just days before the theatrical release. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The last time an episode from a Disney+ series from the MCU aired the same week as a Marvel Studios blockbuster, there was a definite thematic connection between them: Hawkeye brought back Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin just days before viewers see Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock return to the big screen in Spider-Man: No Way Homeand the end of No Way Home refers to a very interesting scene from Hawkeye. This naturally leads to speculation about the existence of a link between Moon Knight and Doctor Strange 2and especially since both films deal with the supernatural. But not only !

What connection could there be between moon knight and doctor strange 2?

Episode 1 of Moon Knight introduced viewers to the MCU’s version of the Egyptian gods, with Steven Grant, a museum worker, spending his free time researching the gods of the Egyptian pantheon. The books that Steven leafs through also name several members of the pantheon, namely Osiris, Horus, Tefnut, Shu, Atum, Hathor, Isis, Khonshu and Ammit.

Apparently, the Egyptian gods exist in another dimension and operate on this plane of existence through avatars who wield their power. Moon Knight, therefore, is the avatar of Khonshu, while Arthur Harrow is the avatar of Ammit. It is clear that Moon Knight will continue to explore the Ennead (namely the group of nine deities of Egyptian mythology gathering all forces in the universe), although at this point it’s impossible to say which characters exactly will be introduced to us.

The MCU’s Ennead is taken straight from the comics, but its story is a little more complex: it is linked to a race of known beings under the name of “Elder Gods”who ruled Earth in prehistoric times but were banished to other dimensions like Heliopolis. The timing of the Ennead’s debut in the MCU is particularly interesting, given that there has long been speculation about the Elder Gods appearing in the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But then, could these be seen in Doctor Strange 2 ?

Well remember, Wanda Vision bound Scarlet Witch to the Darkhold, however, in the comics, these two elements come from the Elder God named “Chthon”. And for now, from what we know, Chthon will appear in Doctor Strange 2. And it’s entirely possible that the MCU’s version of Chthon works the same way as the Elder Gods. If so, it will certainly be a cosmic being that exists on another dimensional plane, and can only act on Earth through its avatars. But then, what if Wanda became his avatar? After all, “The Scarlet Witch was not born, she was forged”warns Agatha Harkness in Wanda Visionaccording to information revealed by the Darkhold.

This theory could explain the strange plans of the trailers of Doctor Strange 2 which showst Scarlet Witch next to Wanda Maximoff, and which shows Scarlet Witch (presumably) going after Wong, before fighting alongside him a monster we’ve never seen before. It reminds us somewhat of Moon Knight and his dissociative identity disorder. It is therefore quite possible that a link of this kind is highlighted in Doctor Stange 2, to echo the latest Marvel series offered to viewers. And you, what do you think of this theory?
