Marvel: Find out how Ultron killed two of the most powerful Avengers in history

Decidedly, it is better not to underestimate the mighty Ultron. Iconic character in comics, his representation in Avengers: Age of Ultron largely disappointed fans. Fortunately, in the comics, his reputation is well established, and his power is almost unparalleled. And a recent story once again proves his superiority over many Avengers.

Ultron: an iconic villain

Ultron is an ultra-powerful artificial intelligence. Invented by Hank Pym, Ultron possesses an extremely developed intelligence, a connection to all existing networks and an inordinate strength. In particular, there have been several versions of this killer robot. Some of its forms could be composed of vibranium or even adamantium armor. Ultron first appears in 1968, in a comic by Roy Thomas and John Buscema. Quickly, he becomes a recurrent and above all extremely tough enemy of the Avengers. The character was even classified at the 23rd place on IGN’s Top 100 Comic Book Villains.

On the screens, Ultron obviously appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Dubbed by James Spader, the character was unfortunately generally mistreated in Joss Whedon’s film. Fans were very disappointed, and rightly so, by the character’s portrayal in the feature film. Afterwards, Ultron returned to the animated series What If…?, with a treatment much more successful and faithful to its representation in the comics. It is even rumored that this antagonist could appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The deaths of two super-powered Avengers

In the comics, Ultron has proven his superiority over the Avengers more than once. In the comics Age of Ultron for example, he manages to defeat the Avengers and creates a dystopian future in his likeness. A plot partially repeated in What if…? exactly.

In this famous story, Age of Ultron, readers learn Hulk was killed by the robot. A death that was presented offscreen, simply stated in the course of the story, in Age of Ultron #3 by Brian M Bendis and Bryan Hitch. Then, in Age of Ultron #4, readers discover a clash between She Hulk and Ultron. Again, the AI wins over the green giant without too much trouble, thus proving its superiority over the clan of the Hulk, who are however probably the most powerful Avengers of all time. She Hulk gets killed by surprise, not one of Ultron’s Sentinels. Quite an astonishing fact, a death without fanfare, quick and violent, which proves that even the Hulk cannot stop the mad robot. Ultron is arguably one of the Avengers’ worst enemies, and we would love to see it back on the big screen…
