McDonald's: resellers sell the "latest BigMacs from Russia" at these indecent prices

Recently, McDonald’s CEO said closing stores was the right thing to do because of the “unnecessary human suffering in Ukraine”. The 850 McDonald’s restaurants present in Russia are therefore closed until further notice, and just before closing, some Russians decided to stock up on burgers, as you will see.

A rush on McDonald’s across the country before closing

Several Russians have stockpiled very large quantities of McDonald’s hamburgers after the announcement of the temporary closure of all establishments in the country. Last Tuesdaythe queues were huge for this purpose, people thronging to take a last bite of their favorite meal in a Moscow McDonald’s.

And so the Russians sought to make reservations, as can be seen from several photographs that have been shared on Redditlike this one:

The purpose of these wholesale purchases is either to create a personal reserve, or to resell them later, at higher sums. Before closing, the average price of a Big Mac at McDonald’s in Russia was 1.36 dollars (about 1.24 euros). For information, the BigMac costs around 4.5 euros in France, and 5.2 euros in Paris. But recently Avito, a Russian classifieds and auction platform (similar to eBay), was inundated with ads from people trying to sell McDonald’s food at sky-high prices, ranging from burgers to drinks to packets of sauce.

On the screenshot above, we can thus read that for a cherry pie McDonald’s, a dealer asks for 104,000 rubles, the equivalent of 810 euros. another request 50,000 rublesor about 390 euros, for the “last BigMac in Russia”.

And by the way, if you want to know why the McFlurry machine could cost McDonald’s 800 million euros, you can consult our previous article on the subject.
