WTF: a man is arrested for having stuck on the body 160 processors

Crime is bad. Trying to smuggle material illegally is also bad. But it must be admitted that some cases still make you smile. This is particularly the case of this surprising story, reported by the Chinese authorities, of a man who tried to cross the border with no less than 160 processors concealed in an original way.

A processor shortage that lasts

We thought it would be temporary, but it could well extend until 2023 or even beyond: the shortage of electronic components and in particular of processors is not ready to end. If you’re a computer geek or have been trying for nearly a year and a half to get yourself a next-gen game console, you’re probably cursing it.

However, some people decide to take advantage of this situation in order to turn it to their advantage. We are thinking in particular of scalpers, those resellers who buy equipment (for example consoles) en masse and then resell them at exorbitant prices. We imagine that Zeng, a man arrested at the Chinese border a week ago, was also aiming to get rich when he tried to enter the territory with no less than 160 processors glued to his skin.

An act of delinquency that does not take half measures

We do not know much about this individual, but the Chinese authorities have reported a case of arrest at the port of Gongbei, which provides access to Chinese territory. On March 9, this so-called Zeng quickly aroused suspicion. Indeed, he had said that he had no goods to declare and therefore had to go through a special door avoiding him having to be searched. Only, moving around with 160 processors (11th and 12th generation Intel) glued to the chest, hips, or even the inside of the thighs, even hidden under your clothes, does not particularly help to go unnoticed. It was therefore the man’s approach that attracted the attention of security, who then carried out a search in good and due form.

In addition to the 160 processors, the individual also carried no less than 16 foldable smartphones: in other words, he had a small fortune on him. It is therefore easy to imagine thathe was about to resell all the goods in his possession to the black guy in order to get a nice jackpot. It was a good attempt, but sometimes being grilled by the authorities seems inevitable.
