We almost witnessed a real disaster live on Twitch with this streamer who ignited her stream in the truest sense of the term. Indeed, while she was filming herself cooking, a fire broke out on the hob and the young woman unfortunately had a bad reflex to try to put out the flames.
She literally ignites her stream!
This streamer is Kjanecarron, who decided to organize a subathon on her Twitch channel and she started preparing a dish live from her kitchen. Except that not everything went as planned. From the start of his stream, we can see that the kitchen is already smoky. Most certainly because she put the frying pan on her plate which was already too hot. Then everything suddenly, flames appear in the pan and there is panic!
The young woman no longer knows what to do to try to put out the fire and she decides to grab the handle to run the pan under water in the sink. Bad idea ! The fire redoubles in intensity, flames spring up in the kitchen. She then puts the frying pan back on the plate.
A bad reflex that could have turned into a tragedy
If the video can make you laugh, Kjanecarron has certainly missed a real disaster. She nearly set her kitchen on fire and her mistake of wanting to put out the start of the fire directly by throwing water on it could have had serious consequences.
The original fire was not exceptional. We have already burned something while cooking. We have already said to ourselves, in a moment of panic, that the best solution to put out a fire is to douse it with water. However, it is a bad reflex. In the case of a greasy or oil fire, putting water on it is like pouring gasoline on it.. By adding water to oil on fire at this temperature, the water sinks to the bottom of the pan since water and oil do not mix. Then, the water will overheat on contact with the pan and will eventually explode out.
If such a situation arises, the best way to put out a fire starting in your kitchen is to turn off the heat source (if possible) and use a fire extinguisher or cover the pan/saucepan with a damp cloth.
Finally, more fear than harm for the streamer because she avoided having her house set on fire and she escaped with a simple burn on her hand.
