When you go on holiday in France, the airline and train company gives itself the right to verify your identity. Indeed, if you are flying to the French overseas departments or regions (DROM) and the Overseas communities (COM)… Know then that a valid national identity card is also sufficient .

You can travel to Turkey with a simple French national identity card. This even if the expiry date indicated on the back is exceeded by less than five years. “French national identity cards (CNI) issued to adults between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013 are still valid 5 years after the expiry date indicated on the back. For a trip to Egypt, the passport is not essential. However, you must present a national identity card with a validity date of at least 6 months after the date of the start of your stay.
