Among the most anticipated series sequels of 2022, it is impossible not to mention The Umbrella Academy. If fans will first experience part 1 of season 4 of Stranger Things next May 27, the third salvo of episodes of the series focused on a band of somewhat special superheroes will land June 22, 2022 in the catalog. Season 2 left us with a major cliffhanger: after having ended a new apocalypse in 60s Dallas, the family consisting of Luther, Five, Vanya and the others returned to their original timeline. Unfortunately, they were far from imagining that their adoptive father had decided to replace them with another band of superheroesmuch less sympathetic than them…
If we imagine that only one family can exist in this timeline at the end of season 3 of The Umbrella Academy, these new teens haven’t said their last. As the first family adopted by Reginald, they are seven and look a lot like the Hargreeves : there is number 1, Marcus (Justin Cornwell), the new Ben in 2, Fei in number 3 (Britne Oldford), Alphonso in number 4 (Jake Epstein), Sloane in number 5 (Génesis Rodríguez), and finally Jayme in number 6 (Cazzie David). As for number 7, it is a telekinetic cube named Christopher whose voice stunt name has not been revealed.
On May 1, Netflix unveiled two new posters of this next batch of episodes. We can thus see the Hargreeves as we had left them, with a small difference however: the transformation of Vanya into Viktor, like her interpreter Elliot Page. This new poster also allows us to finally clearly distinguish the facies of the opposing band, the Sparrow Academy. Just by looking at the expression on their faces, we can already imagine that they will give a hard time at the Umbrella Academy.
Besides, their powers seem much more powerful than those of the Hargreeves. The leader, number 1, is like Luther, endowed with superhuman strength. So far, nothing fantastic. Number 4 is, for its part, able to mutilate himself and transmit his suffering to his adversaries. If this power is particularly surprising, he knows the same pain. Two of the women in the gang are equally impressive: one enjoys the gift of healing while the other is able to transform into a swarm of crows, ready to devour the eyes of villains.
The power of the last heroine of Sparrow Academy is not yet known. However, one can imagine that it is capable of spitting out a deadly liquid or else releasing an energy from his face able to destroy his enemies. For the others, we will have to wait for the release of season 3 of The Umbrella Academy to discover the extent of their talents…
